The main aim of the Value Adding Element (VAE) is to support European and Canadian geo-spatial information industry to develop and grow the prospects of EO services being used in business and organizations for their operations.
VAE is a small component of ESA's Earth Observation Envelope Programme, which entered its third cycle of financing covering the period of 2008-2012. VAE builds on the initial results and achievements made since 2000, under its pre-cursor of Earth Observation Market development (EOMD).
