Novel IT technologies boosting utilization of satellite data in precision agriculture (BoostSat)

The activity will create new EO-based services by combining readily available satellite data (mainly Sentinel-2) with in-situ IT technologies (MAV, UAV, IoT) for precision fertilization and crop anomaly detection, especially in cloud-affected areas (Northern Europe).

Opportunities relating to cloud computing and crowd-sourcing will be exploited involving farmers and the general public in crop characterisation via their mobile phones, M2M networks, etc.
