Polarimetric techniques for forestry
Main Aims / Objectives Explore the viability of a service portfolio targeting the retrieval of key forest parameters by applying polarimetric and interferometric techniques to quad- and dual-pol SAR data.
Main Services The work is making use of recent quad and dual-polarized data from Radarsat2 and TerraSAR-X sensors. These missions bring new opportunities in terms of higher spatial resolution, expanded polarimetry, multiple frequencies and the possibility of interferometric analysis. The project incorporates streamlined processes for target analyses, algorithms (physical models) for deriving key forest attributes and examples of the utility of these attributes for value-adding applications (e.g. biomass models). |
